Restoring Serenity To Our Daily Life

God give us the grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed;
Courage to change the things that should be changed;
And the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.
--Reinhold Niebuhr--

When we think of serenity, many people think of the famous prayer written by Reinhold Niebuhr. Well known to many 12 step programs and known as the Serenity Prayer.

I believe that it is time for us to stop associating serenity with things that cannot be changed. If you often feel as if your spinning out of control, its probably because you really are.

I personally have been brushing my teeth, only to leave the bathroom still foaming at the mouth to make a bed and pick up clothes on the floor. Why? because I could see in the mirror that the bed wasnt made and my husband left his clothes on the floor. Sometimes, before we can even rinse our mouth we feel the need to go to the next task! Needless to say a day that starts off with frenzy can only end in frenzy.

Serene women do not become sidetracked. Sidetracked women, who throw their energy to the winds, never acheive serenity. (NERVOUS BREAKDOWNS MAYBE,SERENITY NO)!

Its time to take our sanity back. We do this by concetrating slowly on one task at a time,without driving our self crazy. We will act as if we are serene, by bringing all of our focus to what we are doing we can accomplish even the simplist task. We can gain inner peace from living fully in ~The Moment~!

Im sure you, like me, feel like you will get nothing accomplished if you dont do 6 things at once, but the truth is we can accomplish more than we ever thought. Along with that accomplishment will bring us satisfaction and inner peace to accomplish all we set our minds to do!

If we will do that my friends, I believe we can achieve some type of ~serenity~ in our life! Its worth a try and I am beginning to practice it myself!

~Serenity To All~
