~CONFERENCE~

My two friends and I piled up on my floor and decided to Blog together last Sunday. We had a blast. What one didnt know the other did or we figured it out together. It was such a relief to have 3 heads instead of one lol.

After our group Blogging experience, we decided to meet at least once a month and compare notes and new blogging treasures we've discovered. We laughed and said we would call this our Blogging ~Conference~ ! By Tuesday I had already found a place to hold a ~Blogging Retreat~, I called one of the girls and she loved the idea. So, we are excited and working our little minds and fingers to a frenzy.

Stay tune for Date and Location toward end of Summer. Check out my friends Blogs at blahblahblah and Tinkers Tale, they are awsum writers and so enthusiastic about this process. We all have a little something different to offer, which will give you 3 different point of views.

We are so excited and appreciate your support!

Restoring Serenity To Our Daily Life

God give us the grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed;
Courage to change the things that should be changed;
And the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.
--Reinhold Niebuhr--

When we think of serenity, many people think of the famous prayer written by Reinhold Niebuhr. Well known to many 12 step programs and known as the Serenity Prayer.

I believe that it is time for us to stop associating serenity with things that cannot be changed. If you often feel as if your spinning out of control, its probably because you really are.

I personally have been brushing my teeth, only to leave the bathroom still foaming at the mouth to make a bed and pick up clothes on the floor. Why? because I could see in the mirror that the bed wasnt made and my husband left his clothes on the floor. Sometimes, before we can even rinse our mouth we feel the need to go to the next task! Needless to say a day that starts off with frenzy can only end in frenzy.

Serene women do not become sidetracked. Sidetracked women, who throw their energy to the winds, never acheive serenity. (NERVOUS BREAKDOWNS MAYBE,SERENITY NO)!

Its time to take our sanity back. We do this by concetrating slowly on one task at a time,without driving our self crazy. We will act as if we are serene, by bringing all of our focus to what we are doing we can accomplish even the simplist task. We can gain inner peace from living fully in ~The Moment~!

Im sure you, like me, feel like you will get nothing accomplished if you dont do 6 things at once, but the truth is we can accomplish more than we ever thought. Along with that accomplishment will bring us satisfaction and inner peace to accomplish all we set our minds to do!

If we will do that my friends, I believe we can achieve some type of ~serenity~ in our life! Its worth a try and I am beginning to practice it myself!

Being ''LIKED'' is more important than being ''POPULAR''

I heard this saying today and it rings such truth. When people like you for who you are then you are ''likeable''! When your popular people usually like you for what you have,what you can offer them etc. To be likeable, you must be treating people with respect and showing kindness toward them!

I love this! Kids grow up wanting to be popular. Adults aspire to be popular thinking that it will help to bring them success. But, the reality is if you are a likeable person then you ARE popular, but in a different way..... In an honorable way. We should all aspire to be ''likeable'' in all aspects of our lives.

Aint Nothin But A Thang ......

A friend an I just started this blogging proceess in a quest to find what ever ~It~ is that we are missing! I hate to even say `MISSING` , but lacking maybe. I felt the comfort of a small town was more important than my own inner gratification! When I say that it seems misleading in print, because life in this small town has been great for my family. We have the comfort of very little crime, being able to go for a stroll all hours of the day or night, having those lasting relationships due to generations of the same families and opportunties to actually KNOW your neighbors-merchants-even the animals that roam the streets.

I believe, my life for the most part, is like most. We all have our trials and tribulations and usually the feeling that we are missing something, even in a perfect world. That doesnt have to be a bad thing. There are so many opportuntities that consist of never leaving your home! Im so excited to get started on this journey with my new blogger friends.

About me, I have been married for 25yrs to a man I truley believe is my soul mate! We have 2 boys (men now ) 22yrs and 19yrs old. Even tho I have worked all my life, college educated and busness owner, when my family dynamics changed (kids graduating college etc) the Empty Nest Syndrome, is now very apparent in my life! You question if you have lived thru your children, or I have, and wonder what is out there for a middle-aged (ughh i hate that word)woman with so much left to offer. Im excited to be able to share my new ventures and adventures with all of you and look forward to your input.

" It Aint Nothin But A Thang"......and Im so ready to find that new THANG in my life!
