Ticks And Other Crawley Things

So, we have a scary ritual every night that if looking thru our window you would think we were a family of monkeys! I guess I should explain why we have this ritual. My sons are Surveyors, which means they are in the woods all day. Which also means they encounter snakes, alligators, red bugs, chiggers, bees and ticks. etc. Sounds like a fun job huh! I don't think they thought of this when the oldest was in his 5th year of College,

Tonight was a night like all the rest......they sit on the floor and we do a ~Tick~ check! I look through their hair, arm pits, beards,back,sides,ears....then they take a shower and look at the ~other~ parts , ~Thank God~!!!!  I have tanning beds and they tan to keep their backs from breaking out. My oldest comes in gagging tonight. He is totally grossed out because he apparently had a very thirsty ~gray~ tick on his side. That grossed him out the most cause it was gray....a DOG Tick LMAO he says .....He was like, ~ I don't know how long that one was there it was full, his words ~man that was SICK!!!!!!

So, we sit down and do a major tick check then. He's so grossed out he even shaves off his goatee. Bless his heart. I guess that's the bad side to being a surveyor. Well, to me the bad side is when a gator is swimming toward you at the speed of light and your son stops to film and send to you before he walks away??! Then there are all the picks I get of dead rattlers or water moccasins and they think that's ~COOL~! For me, I wouldn't last a day! But then again I am a girl and we are not suppose to like things like this are we??!

I sometimes feel bad we encouraged this career, but they do enjoy it in spite of it all. I am however looking forward to the day that I can pass the ~tick~ searching to their lucky wives. Wonder if they will tell them before or after marriage its a requirement.  I'm pretty confident I will pass that job on and try to repress that memory!!

So, when your sitting there with your kids just think of how lucky you are you don't have to do a daily tick check!! Then when you think of that think of me and a few numbers of some eligible women who want a good man (youngest taken) and a job as ~head tick boss`~ I believe I will hand her the tiara and sash  that says~ Miss Tickmaster Texas~ and send then on their merry way.

I can always Pray for a better job description and maybe one with pay or at least paid vacay for being the First.....or shall I say ~Head~  Tick Queen!!!

The Bachelorette

Where do I start! How about ~The Masked Guy~.......does he think he's so shockingly gorgeous that she will be overcome by his beauty and not be able to handle it? I'm sorry , but when theres 20+ Men pining for a woman's affection their more pitiful than the women are. Whose the ltl arrogant worm that keeps saying how he doesn't like her he's just competitive? (Bentley) isn't that the name of a DOG?? (nothing personal if that's your name) ....If not it should be! Someone needs to find him in a dark alley and teach him how to treat and talk about a woman!

She keeps talking about her ~gut~ feelings......she needs to have a twinkie or something, because her gut is just growling I think!! Over half of the ones she kept are not even cute....not that looks are everything, but geesh they help... haha!

I have raised 2 Boys.....Men now. If they went on T.V. and acted like some of these guys Id be mortified. I know I may be predigest, but when The Bachelor is on you kinda expect the women to be in cat fights, act blonde or be mean spirited. That's just how we roll. Men are suppose to be more refined or I guess the word is ~Manly~ why I don't know. Its just like a bunch of ltl whiney 5th graders! Its just sad to see a room of Men so vulnerable for me ); Maybe that's an East Texas ~thang~ haha

She seems a little arrogant compared to her season with The Bachelor. But hey its got her on 2 Seasons, so I guess shes done something right huh??!! She is a very pretty girl and actually in College and appears very smart! Just hasn't had alot of luck in the Love dept........happens to the best of us!

Well I will put my prediction in. Nick and J.P. I think will be in the final 3 ......haven't decided on the 3rd one! Who do you think? What is your favorite Reality Show? Have you ever thought about applying for one? I've considered many actually. Several look like alot of fun, some life changing, others for the love of money and last but not least the love of a good person! What more could you ask for ?!

Hi There

I have really missed my Blogging Girls! How is everyone? Theres been so much going on the last 6-7mths that I had to put Blogging on the back-burner. I had BIG plans to do a Diary of our life and what we have and are dealing with, but again it just wasn't in the cards.

Everything is going well! Wesley is tolerating treatment and we have figured out how to have a ~normal~ life again. One that includes trips to the hospital every 2mths, blood work weekly, chemo monthly and the unknown of it all.

Isn't it funny how the powers above take over and you learn how to cope and deal with what life gives you. The good, the bad and the ugly, but also the beautiful. I wont sit here at this point and say my attitude is always positive and roses have an all new scent, because that's b.s.

In the beginning I thought that writing about it and documenting every little thing would help. Well I soon realized I didn't need to document anything, because I will never forget on any level. With that being said I also realized I just wanted to live and sometimes forget. Just be normal, have fun, go on vacation, go to graduation of my sons and pretend we were ok. As crazy as it seems that's how Ive learned to cope. Don't get me wrong....I by no means am in denial......just surviving!

In this survival mode things have mostly been good! I believe the survival mode is also the positive mode! Its all good is my saying! Its all good till it isn't! Then you go on, but you cant dwell on the negative! In doing this our boys are good, my husband is doing awesome and I'm holding strong! Just got my passport renewed and looking forward to going out of the country, hoping to one day spend alot of time just chilling!!

So, as you can see I plan on having many Margaritas on the Beach with my husband and yes sometimes alone!! We\Im going to be ok! Now enough of all this serious talk I want some fun conversation! Some Summer Plans, something fun going on I may not have heard of (;

Besafe ..........have fun!!!

LIFE IN GENERAL

When you have a sick spouse you tend to absorb everything and every moment! Ive noticed myself finding simplicity in the oddest things. Things I didn't find so simple now have a different meaning. The old saying ~Stop and Smell The Roses~ is true......we don't do that enough. Just STOP and embrace what the world has to offer.
I notice the smallest things in my Husband now. Its weird after 32yrs I see him different , but the same. I notice his walk, smell ,laugh all like I'm seeing them for the first time. I sit back and watch my boys and try to pull ~their dads qualities~ out of them and soak it in! What did they take from me....from him! I wonder if hes doing the same thing now?! Are we both seeing each other in a different light? Are we both soaking up every moment we have?! I feel so blessed yet shorted!?

I guess this is a natural process, I'm not really sure? Life has a way of changing you with out options. Sometimes its unfair and we don't have a choice, but to see it differently and other times we JUST HAVE to see it differently. To soak up everything around us whether good or bad, whether you have any control over it or not. So, my theory is ~Stop and smell the Roses~  Try to soak up all the ~scents~ you can! Cherish it all because you never know what life has to offer you . Seems Cliche' I know, but its true. A bad situation or shall I say an unexpected situation has MADE me do all the above! Sometimes when you want to take things for granted or think ~ Ill do it tomorrow ~ STOP and do it NOW~ ......just the simple things make the world of difference.

~SERVICES FOR MY PHONE PENDING )= ~

Yes its true.....another cell phone in my possession has seen an untimely demise! Don't know what it is with me and electronic devices, but they don't hang around very long! Heck, I cant even wear most watches....they wont cont to work on me after a few days. The jeweler said it must be my body chemistry, but we know as far as cell phones go its my drinks that get them every time!! Very disturbing and expensive this year.

This phone must really be pissed, it will ring, show me a number, BUT wont let me answer the call! If that's not bad enough the dang thing keeps beeping to tell me I have a text, BUT I cant see it!! Its trying to torture me for what I don't know? Over use? Using as a flash light and disgracing its intentional purpose? Using it till its so hot it hurts to keep up to my ear......over talking is probably the root to the problem! The dt cokes are a mercy killing!

I never realized how addicted I was to the Internet from my phone. Checking my Blogs, face book,GPS and Map Quest. Just to be able to look something up at a blink did spoil me! I had to go on an ~actual~ computer and order me another phone from EBay! It wasn't easy either. I think they have a Club out there that don't want me have another phone )= Seriously, out of thousands of phones how could I not win a  single bid??!!  I REFUSE to buy a new one and be locked in to another cell phone company.......don't EVEN get me started on my disappointment of Phone Companies! So, EBay it will be....some one has to drop their guard and take my bid!! Until then I will bite my nails (seriously) and hold out......I CAN DO THIS!!

Now of course my family is NOT complaining at all! They are glad I cant reach them on a whim, they are glad I cant text when I want and they now are not obligated to come up with a ~ltl white lie~ ~I mean excuse as to why they NEVER answer! You know as I'm writing this I may have been set-up??!! Maybe they place my drinks where my phone will fall right in to them...hummmm! Could it be?? Is my own family ~snubbing~ out my phones?! Huh I'm sure it couldn't be me??!! I baby my phone...it is my life line!! I just don't understand why they always choose to go for a swim in my coke or coffee.......maybe I should talk MORE and they wont get bored??!! I may be on something there too hummmm

So, all who know me and know I actually do at times fall asleep holding my cell ( I know I need help) I PROMISE I am NOT ignoring your calls....MY DAMN PHONE IS AND HES LAUGHING AT YOU...AND ME!!!! HES NOW IN TROUBLE AND WILL GO INTO THE ~DRAWER OF SHAMEEEE~ (echoing sound by the way lmbo) I will now embarrass all the phones who did not hang with me thru thick and thin and especially the WET!! I must teach the new one how to swim!!

I will buy a bigger and better version of you!! I will buy a water proof case and I WILL have this phone till I'm sick of it or dies from natural causes.....this I promise!! So, please lift the black ball on me, so I can give one of your electronic friends a better and useful - VERY useful life (=  Now I'm fixing to go back on EBay and I am on a mission! A mission to find my next electronic friend! Maybe one my Chiropractor will like too lol He believes the cell has not been kind to my body...imagine that!!

So, the next time you see me my ~new, improved and working~  phone will be updating for me! Wish me luck. If your on Verizon....tell me what your phone of choice is. Ive had a Blackberry the last 4 phones and am literally buying quarterly! Their not the most expensive, but their not cheap either.....all in all I probably have over a $1000.00 in my ~dead phone drawer~!!! (a few yrs worth) Now that's a sad waste of good money!! Help me out my friends. I have a site on a past Blog that will actually take all those old phones and pay YOU for them!! So, don't feel bad for them, they will find a new home....kinda (=

Happy Holidays and I hope to be sending out many Holiday texts real soon! O.K. I'm a going shopping now and I feel THIS time I am going to find my ~soul phone~!!

~AN AWARD~

''That Girl With Endo'', just gave me this sweet award! She has an incredible story to tell. One with alot of personal heartache, but also triumph! She is living a life many of us women live, but still it isn't talked about as as it should be! Thank You and I wish you all the Happiness,Good Luck and Fortune in the world (=
                                                                    GOD BLESS

I WANT TO SHARE THIS WITH::

Green Monkey Tales, D.D. @ Dazee Dreamer ,Angie @ Like Shes Somebody, Shelia @ Opto mom and Grace @ Looks Good Naked! I don't have your address, but the above so will leave a message on your page! Take care and have a GREAT week/weekend!

Everyone of these fellow Bloggers have a Story to tell. They all are different with different life stories and experiences. I can visit their Blogs and experience all emotions, but no matter what is going on in their life they find a way to find humor in it! If not humor then ~peace~! If not peace then ~acceptance~...it all goes hand in hand! We don't have to agree on what everyone writes, but the fact that we can be open minded and accept one anothers flaws, sadness, rewards, illnesses, life experiences and HAPPY moments is what makes this forum and you special (=

The Bitter Truth

So, my friend and fellow Blogger Angie decided to walk again. Shall I say shes already walking and I'm going to start tomorrow. Shes the Ltl Athletic type and well.......I'm not ha ha  I have sworn my Loyalty to meet at 8:15 a.m. with coffee in hand. She tells me to ~Layer-up~ that's NEVER a good sign!
THAT WILL BE ME IN MY ~PEACE~ SNUGGIE @ 7:59AM!

As we were texting back and forth our early morning plans I had a Revelation! Well you see as we are discussing the ~Proper Clothing~ I decided I didn't walk in the Summer, because it was too hot! I didn't walk in the winter, because it was too cold! I had already eliminated 2 out of 4 seasons! I felt quite proud of my reasoning's!!

Truth is I ALWAYS say I cant wait till it gets warmer so we can REALLY SWEAT, you know make it worth our while and lose more calories. Then I say, I cant wait till it cools off so we wont sweat as much?! So what about the other 2 Seasons, what are my excuses? I don't have any and I'm actually trying to make them up as I type! So lets see Spring) that SHOULD be the perfect time to walk BUT IS IT......IS IT REALLY??!!  Isn't that when the allergies are so strong......Im almost positive the pot holes in the road are much worse then?! What about Autumn......hummmmm well I'm not getting anything! Maybe its damp, hurts the bones more, ummmm still left over pollen possibly! Help me out girls (=

There is NOTHING like a ~PERKY~ morning walker....good thing that's not us! We like to bitch, moan and groan. Sometimes we actually talk about good things too, cant all be bad or we REALLY would be too depressed to walk! I am grateful to this athletic friend of mine tho, she tends to make me feel bad about not taking better care of myself. Not on purpose, because she feels the same way! When its ~out-there~ you have NO choice, but to be aware of what your NOT doing! That's why I hate the Pre-Summer after Winter talks they always lead to what we are doing wrong! Smoke too much, cuss too much THEN its the ~we really really need to start walking again~ Its inevitable.

So as I set out on this 3-4 time yearly quest to get healthy, I'm still trying to think up an excuse as to why I cant crawl my big butt out of a warm and cozy bed in the morning! I blogged this because I know she will see it and text me or call and sound like my mom when I was a kid! Kinda one of those things, ''If your not dead or bleeding to death'' you SHOULD be here walking!!! I even thought of the idea....I don't have a hat....yea I liked that one! She says, ''I don't walk in a hat''! Well shit that blew that excuse ha ha

So, I just may post a picture of us walking in the morning in sub-zero temps....OK maybe not sub-zero, but it WILL be cold! She will be the skinny one in the picture, the one that doesn't look like she NEEDS to walk! You know shes walking strictly to get into BETTER shape and possibly because she enjoys it! Ha ha, I will be the other one! Since their is only 2 of us it shouldn't be hard to find me! I will look like the ltl boy in The Christmas Story! Oh and I will have a brace on my left knee.....would wear one on my right one, but figured it'd look to dramatic (although I REALLY do need one on it too ha ha)! I have issues.

Please say a prayer that a) I make it out of bed! b) I make it around the track at least once! c) I don't leave on a stretcher, but most of all d) that we can catch up on 4mths, because I really have missed talking to her pain and all (=

ITS NICE TO BE HOME...I THINK?!

I have lived out of a suit case for 3mths....literally! Whether at the Hospital or at an Apt. the Ark House set us up in! I'm sitting here looking at MY 4 walls not knowing how to feel? Should I be comforted in the fact that my husbands radiation is over and we have a mth break till he starts his chemo again? Should I be nervous that hes not feeling well tonight and we are 3hrs away? Should I embrace the fact that hes doing AMAZING or should I be freaking out at what the future will hold?!

WESLEYS SURPRISE BDAY PARTY 50YRS THIS WAS AFTER SURGERY BUT PRE TREATMENT! WE ALSO CELEBRATED MY SONS 20TH BECAUSE WE WOULD BE IN DALLAS!

If you've ever been told your spouse has an incurable disease, I assure all these feelings and more rush thru your mind! You dont sleep much, you smile and put on a front and you pray, you pray alot! You pray for all kinds of things, mercy, healing,a miracle, wisdom, strength for them, you and your children and thats just the top of the list!

No, this isnt a pity post , but more of the Diary I promised earlier. If I can help someone realize its ok to be sad,mad and any other emotion they are feeling then Ive helped. If  I can help them get intouch with resources that have helped us so far ......then I have helped!

We have used U.T. S.Western in Dallas and they have been absolutely awsum! Everyone said for him to go to MD Anderson(awsum too), but after the near death experience (I kid you not!) at a local Hospital, he felt comfortable where I had him transferred and it was where HE felt comfortable! BUT, I however have been so pleased, I just cant say enough! They are in with the Cancer Centers Of America now, they DO converse with MD Anderson,Duke etc. I highly suggest them if you are in need of a Center Center!

Yes, in past post I told you of the strange people I met standing on Harry Hines on my phone, But it was partly my fault.....I didn't realize hookers also walked Harry Hines lmao! I did not realize a mental hospital with ~self check in~ was across the street along with the Salvation Army! But, you know what THOSE people helped ME!! Their story's seemed hopeless at times and they had no one who would give them the time of day much less listen! I didn't mind really....well The Charles Mansion look alike ~up in my space~ kinda freaked me out, but he ment no harm! Just wanted an ear!

THIS IS THE ENTRANCE AT THE CANCER CENTER! A BLOWN GLASS SCULPTURE

The Ark House, is a Methodist funded non profit organization that helps people find housing if receiving treatment and live further than 50 miles away! Talking about a blessing! We had been staying at the Marriott, don't get me wrong it was heavenly compared to the Hospital chair Id been in, but even at a hospital discount it was 80$ aday!  Three mths of that, co-pays EVERYDAY (Don't get me started on the whole insurance saga....60$ aday co pays),we know the chemo meds are over 10,000$ a mth, because you have to sign if over 10grand and we are definitely having to sign )= etc etc etc, The Ark House was/is our Saving Angel!! We only had to pay 15$ a day BIG difference, now I realize why hospital bills sink people quickly. The Volunteers came by several times a week to see if we needed anything, paper goods, washing powder, food etc! They also called to check on us weekly! To me they were our Angels Of Mercy and I hope to be in the position to help in the same capacity in my area one day!

THE ARK HOUSE APT!

As my night is coming to an end I must up-date you on my hubbies progress. He has Anaplastic Astrocytoma stage 3-4 with sum 1-2. For his prognosis he shouldnt really be walking well or communicating with out a delayed thought. He should have problems with his left side due to tumor location...he has NONE! His surgeon Dr Beshay, was AMAZING and removed all his tumor with no problems! So, as you can see we have so many things to be grateful for! And yes my friends we are blessed everyday hes one of 4 beating the odds so far!

WALKING INTO HIS SURPRISE PARTY HAHA

For all you caregivers, you have the right to be tired....God knows I am! I at first thought how selfish that was and when people told me to take care of myself I thought are these people CRAZY?? This isn't about ME! They were however wiser than me.....I had to learn the hard way! My Fibromyalgia went into overdrive with all the stress and I wasn't keeping an eye on it! I'm feeling better, but you'd just have to understand the disease to understand the symptoms !

THIS IS MY OLDEST BEING THE DR....TOOO FUNNY! HIS NAME TAG SAID DR PHILGUD (=

Long story short ( well maybe not lol) he IS  doing good, Ill be OK and all I can hope for is a miracle healing!  Please keep the prayers coming! He still has a long road to travel, but at this rate he will be one of  the 4 patients she writes about!  Such a Blessing!!! Glass half full kinda mentality (=

.........AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST! MY HUBBIE AND I HIS LAST WK OF TREATMENT!!!

So, just wanted to catch up and share a few thoughts, stories and pictures! This story had just began and I pray I'm  blessed with many more years to tell it! Love to you all from my family to yours (=

~SECONDS~

There is a Sprint commercial that shows a split screen of two different scenarios. One is where just 1 second-one split decision to help someone or go right instead of left changed their life! In a way its a Pay it Forward kinda thing and or Karma.

Do you stop to help someone who has dropped something, open a door for someone, let a person go ahead of you in line, give someone directions?! You get the picture.......IF you hadn't stopped to do one of the above would you have met that special someone? Found a great deal? Met that best-friend? IF you walked on by and didn't help did you miss the opportunity to meet one of the above or meet a future boss or contact?!

I always wonder about that and I always try to be helpful, but I'm not perfect so a commercial of that nature makes me think! Did I miss that contact,  special person or conversation? I guess the older I get and the more life experiences I face the more I ~wonder~?!

As I said in my last post, I tend to have ''that face'' that people come up to for directions, money or just to talk! I don't think I look a certain way , but they must see something I don't.  Peoples stories fascinate me, their life and why they chose the roads they did! Maybe that's ~the look~ I have lol ....that I  need to understand the universe and what makes people tick ?! Maybe because I question the decisions Ive chosen in my life at times it tends to make me wonder ~what if~!

I also believe that's where faith comes in and we are not ment to know the ~what ifs!~ Only our God knows ~what if~ and we just have to accept that or we're suppose to with Blind Faith. Due to our life situation at the moment, I have alot of questions and most will never be answered ! I live with curiosity, but try to live without any regrets!

So, until the next post maybe we should all try to think about that ~next second~ and make the best of it....The Good ,The Bad,The Ugly AND The Unknown! Much love my Blogging Friends!

OLAHHHHHHHHHH

Yes, I'm back! I will be posting some pics this week on a ltl trip we took to the Coast to get away and re-group! We are going tomorrow to have Wesley's 1st appt with the Radiologist and Oncologist! After that I assume the treatments will begin!

I'm glad we got to get away for a bit and just be us two! The last time we did that our oldest was 2(hes23) and our youngest wasn't even a thought (almost20)! So, I do believe crisis mode or not it was MUCH needed AND  well-deserved lol

Miss my Blogging friends....miss all my friends...hasnt been much time for anything but Hospitals,Dr's appts and alota driving! Everyone please keep praying for a healing miracle for  my husband! Thank you so much and as this process continues I will continue with the updates and hopefully some funny stories too!

Such as......................................................................................
I must have a sign on my head that says ~I WILL TALK TO ANYONE-GIVE YOU MY MONEY ETC!~ God love 'em! I had every homeless, pre-phyco-alcoholic lonely person come to me as I would go out side the hospital to make my calls! Now don't get my wrong, I have this unexplainable empathy for these people! I have worked in the field and so many are Vets that's aren't getting their benefits or are too far gone to know how, 1 missed pay check for many can lead you down that road and some are just troubled beyond repair! This I know, BUT some are what they are and able bodied!

#1) I hear a shuffling and out of the corner of my eye I see this man walking across the parking lot! I say ~Please God let this man walk on by today!~ but, noooooo he did not! I'm one of those people that if you are closer than my arm can swing around my body....you are too close! This man was Charles Manson twin_I kid you not! But, I also have a fascination with why people are the way they are etc....I believe people pick up on that too! He begins to ask me for a smoke and starts to tell me he needed a smoke beforee he walked across the street ~AND COMMITTED HIMSELF!~ Now of course this made me a TAD  bit leery!

I was even more stressed because he was in ~My Space~ that arm reach space I was talking about!!  He began to talk of his family as if I knew who 'Bob' his dad was-'Mary' his Aunt -'Bruce' his x-lover!! etc!! He went on this elaborate story of being ust to Limos, getting into private clubs because he was 'known', how his step mom(who I was suppose to know) screwed his dad outta all his inheritance and THEN he began to cry!!! OMG I thought .....what am I suppose to do with this poor soul? He explained how his gran maw died and he was the one who took care of her and no one told him she died till a  month later! That he needed his meds to deal with it....then he got angry!

AT this point I'm trying to listen, because I know that in EVERY crazy rant there is truth somewhere!! I'm also trying to look for security and an escape route!! I managed to change the subject THEN that one wound up going into his gay escapades with ~famous~ football players.......it was a lose lose situation!

You know he never asked for money only a smoke! I feel some people JUST wanna talk to ANYONE who will listen! I did listen and i politely excused myself after his second cig. by telling him I had to go check on my husband! I wished him well told him God Bless and walked away........but yet I still cant get this man outta my mind! Was he crazy, was he ~half~ crazy?! Was anything he said true or half truths?! Guess Ill never know....

#2) Don't worry only picking 2 today lol I'm sitting out on the Bus Stop( only because no other seating) in front of the Hospital making my calls. I again see an elderly man walking my way....I hate to say this but again was thinking the same as above! (MY HUSBAND JUST HAD BRAIN SURGERY AN WAS TRYING TO MAKE FAMILY CALLS) But once again God showed me! This was a man in his 70s or appearance wise is what he appeared. He sat down and ask me if I was waiting on the bus. I explained my situation briefly and he began to talk! As he asked if I cared if he drank his beer there he began to tell me how ""That hospital killed his brother ); "" Who knows if that was true all I know is its the leading one in Texas for Brain surgery! He began to tell me that he was a builder and many times he told me ~I'm not an idiot~ I know how to build and do things others don't! The more I spoke with him or let him talk I realized he was for the most part very intelligent! He began to explain how he had an idea to build these houses and all he needed was land to put them on to make a sub-division> That the sub walls could be made outta palates...which Ive since heard is being done! I asked him if he had children and he explained how he hadn't spoke to them in yrs ...sad to me!

As he went in and out of different subjects he began to speak of his parents and how they ~werent worth nuthin~ how if he wanted to eat as a child he had to catch his own food! That he was an expert fisherman.....I just sat there and listened with so many questions I didn't dare ask, but he also seemed like he ~just wanted to talk~ to someone...anyone!!! I excused myself when the bus came telling him I had to go back to my husbands room! I shook his hand and told him it was nice to meet him and that I wished him luck in the future. He asked me if I would be back soon.......I felt bad telling him no )= ! Again, I left wondering WHY....what happened to this man, he appeared homeless, but also intelligent! But also an alcoholic, so I may have answered my own question! Maybe the demon of alcohol was more important that his business, wife and kids?! Who knows....I never will!!

There are some sad stories, funny stories and some awsum people I met as I went outside daily and I will refer to them in future post! For now that's it! God Bless and I hope these two men find peace some where in their life!

ME, MY BOYS AND HUMOR

I am not one of those parents with a million rules, but there is one thing I insisted on: The first thing my kids should see when they wake up is a smile. For good measure after naps, I usually jump up and down when I walked into their room to show how excited I am to see them; this is clearly one of those things you can do in the privacy of your own home and those little eyes looking at you will think your awsum and not crazy! “Wakey Wakey hands off Snakey!!” — like a victory dance in an undeclared war against sleep.

Early on in this rollercoaster ride of raising kids,(mine are 20 and 23) it struck me that among the many, many, responsibilities of being a parent — turns out there’s more to it than napping — was my need to make sure that my children learned what’s funny! Even if it turns out that they just have to be a doctor or must be a lawyer, I want them to be the funniest ones they can be. Seriously: learning what’s funny — not just how to make people laugh, but how to view oneself with humor — I felt would help them grow into the wonderfully engaged human beings we hope they’ll become. Also, appreciating comedy seemed like a tangible skill I could teach them myself, between the lessons about not eating rocks or sticking things in electrical outlets.

I started thinking more seriously about the funny. How could I assemble the “rules” of comedy for them?? Early on I knew both my boys had a keen sense of humor along with timing........timing is key to being funny!

I started simply, with laughing lessons. Boy did they have laughs`! Every week my oldest had a different laugh. from Pee Wee Herman to Bart Simpson to Movie Stars and eventually family members and neighbors which had to be an inside joke as not to hurt peoples feelings!!

“Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha…

Hee, hee, hee, hee, hee…

Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi…

Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho…

Huuu, huuu, huuu, huuu, huuu.”

Now combine all those together some how and that was their specialty laugh!
I have no scientific facts to back this up, but I firmly believe my boys discovered laughing earlier than most because of their enviroment Or, maybe it’s because we were often  in my jammies just being us. And I cant leave the hubbie doing their crazy stuff.they grabbed oh his his legs as he rushed in the door to be attatcked by 2ltl ones wanting hugs and a ride on the back or walk on the shoes etcccc

Then we moved on to facial comedy. The bug-eyes. The cross-eyes.The double-take. Even a little spit-take just to show them that grown-ups do it too, and with the right comic timing, it isn’t just disgusting. After every bit, I’d laugh, to show them you can laugh at all ages and at most things.

I admit that I like looking silly and stupid in front of my kids (and in front of your kids too, if they’re around). I only hope that by doing this, and by assuming the heavy responsibility of being their comedy mentor, I’ve started Morrris Boys on the road to a more joyful life. I’m trying to cover all the bases. Shortly after they were born, I made faces and strange noises to get their attention and response!:

“I am thankful for laughter except when milk comes out of my nose.”

- Woody Allen

“I’ll teach you to laugh at what’s funny!”

- Homer Simpson

The key is being open to improvisation. It’s not a full-time funfest at our house, but I try to focus on the laughter rather than the tears, complaints or howls.

What comes next, I’m not sure, but I feel confident that at least my children will know that the proper response to “I don’t know” is “Third base.”

Now that that are grown, the first thing everyone says is how ~funny~ my boys are....the only down-fall is its hard to tell when the oldest is serious! I will tell you this their teachers will never forget them and their wise answers or speeches! The coaches had a hard time with their humor, because theyd always put a positive spin on a bad game and they HATED that lol They wanted everyone to be pissed when they were pissed haha it didnt work with mine and in the end I actually believe they softened some of those old goats up lol

..................TO BE CONTINUED!

At this point it has been several more weeks since my last post! Not really sure where to start or what I'm ready to share yet, but I hate to keep you hanging!

My husband had brain surgery to remove a tumor 2 weeks ago today. As I said this was all a shock to us....we had no idea he was sick other than kidney stones. In spite of the fact that Good Shepard Medical Center almost killed him...I'M SERIOUS!, I finally ~forced~ them to transfer him to UT S Western Zale Lipshy, in Dallas where they brought him back to life and performed the brain surgery flawlessly!

We are now in the process of being set up for treatment at UT S. Western Zale for his radiation/chemo. They are said to be as good as M D Anderson and he feels comfortable there sooo.............I pray they are! He has the ~C~ word. At this point I'm not ready to go into detail until he and I know exactly what we are dealing with! I  may start a separate blog just on this ,his recovery and the road we will be traveling in the process!

We have 2 sons, been together 32 of my 47yrs on this earth and he is my rock...our rock! We are devastated and hopeful at the same time! If any of you out here have experienced this kind of tumor glioblastoma  or know someone who  has please put them in contact with me! His is a rare form so it cant be treated like a reg grade3-4....its all a guessing game and Im actually ok with that! Why?? Because a grade 4 is not a good out come and with his it has alittle of all, so its not fast growing and thats awsum!!! My head is full and swimming of what to do...the best thing for us to do???!!!!

Thank you for your support and I appreciate all who will share this journey with us and give me advice, support or a sounding board! God Bless Roxs

~MY LIFE AS WESLEYS WIFE~

Its been a few weeks , more like a month since my last post! My life has been in such turmoil and will only give a short story, as I'm too tired to wrap my brain around it!

Several weeks ago my husband doubled over with kidney stones, This was our 1st ambulance run! We arrived at a local hospital and all in all the experience what a decent E.R. visit! He left still with stones "intact", but not any worse than when he went in!

Three days later my husband was at his parents , had a seizure (1st and last) and was rushed to another hospital.(my oldest got to witness this!). This is where the ~saga~ begins.............................Give me a few days and Ill complete this when Im sure of the out come this weekend! Please keep our family in your prayers!

FUNNY PIC AND NEWS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now those signs are both funny AND disturbing lol!  Its funny at times how we have to spell out even the *basic* things for some to understand! Its also funny that someone had a good enough day to tell everyone else they would not!! I probably would have laughed at it (=

Man Sues Coffee Shop for Ice Mocha Mishap

August 26, 2002 - Michigan, USA

After spilling an iced coffee beverage onto his lap while driving from a local coffee shop drive-through a Michigan man is now suing the shop for $800,000 in damages and mental anguish. The man claimed it was a "traumatic experience" that has negatively altered his life in many ways. He claims that he was unaware of the frigid temperature of his Ice Mocha or he would have taken better precautions with handling the beverage. The coffee shop owner said during our interview, "Anyone who doesn't know the temperature of a drink that has the word 'ice' in its name has much more important things to worry about than a moment of discomfort due to his own negligence. He sustained no physical harm, there were no damages to his vehicle or possessions except a brown stain on his pants, which I am sure is something he is used to."

~Sizzling Sunday and Pending Monday~

THIS IS MY YOUNGEST AND HIS GIRLFRIEND

THEY LOVE TO TAKE PICS!

Which ones better? I vote for Sizzling Sunday, why you ask? Because I enjoy the family being home. I am glad my boys are off work and out of the heat except for the things they WANT to do! I enjoy listening to them laugh and their girl friends giggle, watch them pick at each other - fuss and make up! But most of all watching them grow.
I have came to realize if not for our misfortunes they may not still be living at home! Bitter sweet.........Im one of those moms that could have her children live by them ALWAYS! They wouldnt have to visit everyday it would just be nice to know their ok and at home at night safe and sound!
So before some freak out on me-NO-I dont encourage it, but I would never discourage it either. We have a close family and we love their long time girlfriends. We all know each others limits so we try not to go too far!
As I said in my last post, this is a small house and we are forced to always be around each other if home! It gets difficult at times, but I wouldnt give it up for the world. I can go next door (our store room is bigger than our house and was an old church pews and all!) where I put the office, tanning bed etc and chill to get away from the ruckus lol They can go over there to get away from us also so it works!
I also realize with talks of engagements pending with both by the end of the year and Bridal magazines thrown around the house in every corner this scenero will be over soon enough. Maybe thats why I enjoy my weekends with my ~CREW~ as I call them! I am reluctlently letting go more and more everyday, although I tell them I have.......I havent!
I never realized just how much ~I~ needed them until they were all I had! I always prided myself on allowing them to grow, make their own mistakes and be their own person. Their Dad and I in the back ground if needed watching, waiting, congratulating, cheering on and consoling if need be!
This sizzling Sunday my oldest spent the weekend at his G.F.s families in another town. Its quiet when hes not here. God has blessed me with this time with him. He moved back home shortly after our house burnt and drove back and forth to College. Four days a week he drove a 120 miles round trip, he said he wanted to be back home around his family! The thought of us not being here really freaked him out! I laugh and say God brought him back home so Id get sick of another grown man (21-23) living at home and I could deal when they moved out for good! I REALLY do believe this!
My youngest and I did College stuff this weekend on the computer trying to get him registered etc His laugh is so intoxicating I love to hear it! It makes a bad day seem not so bad! Its makes a good day GREAT! His G.F. would marry tomorrow, so I have spent alot of time explaining the importance of school and being prepared! Who knows if it sunk in, but at least this small house presents the ability to hear and see more so I can help or at least put my 10cents in!
Sizzling Sundays are the day that slows the weekend down, brings us all together to prepeare for the week to come and always open the door for discusssion of ~something~. Its family meal day, the day everyone slows down long enough to stick around and watch a movie together, grill,do some house/yard work and just have a visit! I love it and I hope when they are married going thru the hussle and bussel of life they look back and remember this time together with a smile! I hope they take away from the experience that family is what counts and everthing else is secondary.
I can only say a prayer that they feel as Blessed as I do! Who knows what next weekend will bring, but I do know next Sunday will be a family day full of stories, laughter, arguing(they are boys),schedules for the pending week, but most of all unity........~ A Family That Prays And Plays Together Stays Together~
THIS IS MY OLDEST AND HIS GIRLFRIEND!
THIS IS OUR HOUSE DURING ~FIGHT NITE SATURAY! WE RENT PAY PER VIEW (UFC FIGHTS?)AND EVERYONE FINDS A SEAT(FRIENDS AND FAMILY),EATS A GOOD MEAL AND JUST ENJOYS THE COMPANY...TOLD YOU IT WAS TIGHT LOL

Simple Saturday

~PICTURES FROM OUR HOUSE THAT BURNT~

That's what today has been and I love it! Simple in the clothes I put on, the calls I've made, the plans for tonight and it seems to be showing in my new pattern of life! I believe I may be seeing alot more simple days and relationships......because they are just that ~SIMPLE~!

You see so many things have lead up to this decision and I will share a few with you! Now before I begin do not Pity me for what I share because I have learned and grew from all my life experiences.

Two yrs ago at about 3am we were awoke by our house full of smoke. We had restored this home 4yrs prior and was one of the oldest in our Historical town and I might add also one of the prettiest. It was a beautiful house with 14-16ft ceilings, original hardwood floors, grand entrance,3 baths...just everything you could want in that type of home! My oldest son was away at college and our youngest up front asleep awaiting his bday in 2days!

When my husband woke me and opened our bedroom door black smoke barrelled in.....it was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced. This was a large house so to get from our room up and around to our sons room in a dark smoked filled house was a chore! I jumped up and ran/crawled to his room and woke him, turned around and headed to the front door and he was gone! I ran back to his room and he was asleep again (apparently he had already started to breath in smoke!) so I jerked him up in his boxers and we ran! My husband went out the back grabbing the dog and what few items he could as I tried too, but there was only so much we could get!

In all the ruckus we had called 911 and the emergency crews were there by the time we got outside! We stood that night and watched everything we owned and all our memories go up in smoke and there wasn't a thing we could do! At the time and months to follow were the hardest of my life. My brother passed of a rare and sudden illness 6mths later, my husbands dad passed 1yr 1/2 later and his mom was diagnosed with cancer just 2mths after his death!

There were alot of little things that were in between, but also came the reevaluating my life and its purpose. What should I do from here was always a thought! I realized VERY quickly that night as I watched the flames that my family was safe! My animals were safe! All I THOUGHT was important or status quo meant nothing with out the life that was breathing around me!!

We went from 3600 sq ft to 850 sq ft! Its a small family property given to my husband when his dad passed. I have moaned and groaned at the size etc, because it has been a major shell shock! BUT I have learned that this `SMALL` house has helped to heal our family and bring us even closer! We have no choice but to be around each other, watch T.V. together, eat together and wait for an available bath room yes...together lol Due to all the circumstances money has been tight so we have also learned to entertain each other!

I never thought my life would be where it is now and some tragic things have happened , but it has taught us all how important the ~~simple~ things in life REALLY are! Friends, family and the smaller things that cant be bought are whats important. I cherish every moment I have with the ones I love and realize in many ways how they can go in a blink of an eye.

We will re-coupe our life one day, but we could never replace each other! So live, love, laugh and be grateful for what you have RIGHT NOW at this moment and time!! You never know when your life may change and with out that love and support from each other the journey will be alot harder manage!
